Wi-Fi Options Not Appearing

My PC is not displaying Wi-Fi network options.

Hey, I see you’re having trouble with your Wi-Fi options not appearing on your Windows 10 PC. This can be frustrating, especially when you need to stay connected. Let’s try to fix it step by step.

First, you should ensure that your Wi-Fi is turned on:

Enable Wi-Fi

  1. Open the Quick Settings by clicking on the Network, Sound, or Battery icons () on the far right side of the taskbar.
  2. Click on Wi-Fi and see if it’s off. Turn it On if it is off.

If that doesn’t help, we’ll dig deeper.

Check Network Adapter Settings

  1. Press the Windows key and click on Settings.
  2. Go to Network & Internet.
  3. Click on Network and Sharing Center.
  4. On the left side, click Change adapter settings.
  5. Find your Wi-Fi network adapter. If it’s disabled, right-click on it and click Enable.

If your Wi-Fi adapter is already enabled, we’ll move on to some additional steps:

WLAN Autoconfig Service

  1. Press the Windows key and type services.
  2. Open Services.
  3. Press W on your keyboard to jump to W-named services.
  4. Find WLAN AutoConfig and right-click on it.
  5. Click on Properties.
  6. Under Startup type, select Automatic and apply the changes. Then, click OK.

Next, ensure that your Wi-Fi drivers are updated:

Update Wi-Fi Drivers

  1. Go to Device Manager.
  2. Expand Network Adapters.
  3. Find your Wireless Card and right-click on it.
  4. Click on Update Driver and follow the prompts to update the driver.

Finally, make sure your PC isn’t turning off the Wi-Fi adapter to save power:

Power Management

  1. Go back to Device Manager.
  2. Expand Network Adapters.
  3. Find your Wireless Card, right-click on it, and select Properties.
  4. Go to the Power Management tab and uncheck the box that says Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

If none of these steps help, you can try resetting your network settings or reinstalling the Wi-Fi drivers. If the issue still persists, it might be a good idea to reach out to the manufacturer of your PC or seek additional support from Microsoft.

Good luck, and I hope your Wi-Fi options start appearing soon
