I got an email saying my OneDrive account would be deleted due to inactivity and being frozen (I don't use it and have no files there).

If I had let this happen, would it have affected my Microsoft account, which has all my Xbox purchases?

If the Microsoft account remains unaffected, how can I use OneDrive with that account again in the future?
