I'm experiencing the same issue. I want to silence the "ping" notification permanently, without affecting other sounds.

I completely understand your frustration. It seems like the default solution isn’t quite good enough for you, as it doesn’t persistently mute the To-Do sounds after a system restart.

Given this, there are a couple of potential solutions you can try:

  1. Disable Sounds within To-Do:

    1. Launch Microsoft To-Do.
    2. Click on the three horizontal dots () at the top right corner.
    3. Select Settings.
    4. Go to Accessibility.
    5. Switch off Play sound effects.

  2. Use the Windows Volume Mixer with Persistence:

    1. Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog.
    2. Type %AppData%\Microsoft\Microsoft To Do\Settings and press Enter.
    3. Create a new file named LocalSettings.json and open it with a text editor like Notepad.
    4. Add this line: { "PlaySoundEffects": false }.
    5. Save the file.
