How to Print on Both Sides of Paper in Windows

Having trouble with duplex printing on my Windows PC. Despite selecting the correct options in MS Word and HP printer settings, it won't print on both sides of the paper.

Interestingly, my second computer, which uses the same printer, doesn't have this issue.

All other documents print just fine.

Any solutions to this problem?

Thanks!

To troubleshoot the duplex printing issue on your Windows PC, follow these steps:

  1. Verify the Paper Orientation

    • Ensure the paper is loaded correctly in the printer tray. For front-loading inkjet printers, load with the printed side facing up, while for front-loading LaserJet printers, load with the printed side facing down. For rear-loading printers, load with the printed side facing down.
  2. Adjust Printer Settings

    • Open the document you wish to print in Word.
    • Click File > Print.
    • In the Print Options window, select your HP printer.
    • Click Printer Properties, Preferences, or Printer Setup.
    • In the Printing Shortcut tab, select Two-Sided (Duplex) Printing.
    • Under Print on Both Sides, choose the desired binding or page flip option. Flip on Long Edge creates booklet-style prints with text in the same orientation, while Flip on Short Edge creates tablet-style prints with text in opposite orientations.
  3. Manual Duplexing

    • If your printer does not support automatic duplexing, you may need to reload the sayf.getTransactionFormId())
    • Print the first side and remove the pages from the output tray.
    • Reload the printed pages into the input tray following the specified orientation and location for your printer type.
    • Return to your computer and click Continue to print the other side.
  4. Disabling Duplex Printing

    • When you want to switch back to single-sided printing, go back to the Printing Shortcut tab.
    • Unselect Two-Sided (Duplex) Printing and follow any additional on-screen instructions.
  5. Driver Updates and Support

    • Ensure your printer driver is up-to-date, especially if you recently installed or re-installed the printer.
    • Check the HP support resources for specific guidance on updating drivers and troubleshooting duplex printing issues.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the duplex printing issue on your Windows PC.
