Disabling Microsoft 365

We have a business account that was created last year, and we receive a monthly invoice for it.

However, we don't use this account and want to cancel it.

The problem is that we can't stop the account. When we log in, we're redirected to an administrator we don't have.

How can we get in touch to resolve this issue?

We can't reach you by phone, so we're using this account to request contact.

Hey there,

Sorry to hear you’re having trouble canceling your Microsoft 365 business account. I understand how frustrating it can be when you’re stuck in a situation like this. Let me walk you through a few steps to help you get in touch with Microsoft and resolve the issue.

First, since you can’t reach the administrator listed on the account, you’ll need to contact Microsoft Support directly. You can do this online, even if you can’t get through by phone. Here’s how:

  1. Access Microsoft Support: Go to the Microsoft Support website (www.support.microsoft.com). Click on “Contact Support” at the top right corner.
  2. Sign in with your account: Use your business account credentials to sign in. This will help them associate the request with your account.
  3. Describe the issue: Fill out the form with a detailed description of your problem, including the fact that you’re unable to cancel the account and can’t reach the listed administrator.
  4. Submit the request: Click “Submit” to create a support ticket.

Once you’ve submitted the request, Microsoft Support will get back to you via email or phone (if you provided a number) to help you resolve the issue. They may request additional information or verification to confirm your identity and account ownership.

If you’re having trouble accessing the support website or don’t hear back within a few days, you can try reaching out to Microsoft via other channels:

  1. Microsoft Support Twitter: Reach out to @MicrosoftHelps on Twitter. They’re active and usually respond quickly.
  2. Microsoft Community Forum: Post your issue on the Microsoft Community Forum, specifically in the Microsoft 365 or Office 365 section. You might get help from Microsoft staff or experienced users.

Remember to keep your support request open until the issue is fully resolved. Microsoft will likely need to verify your identity and account details before they can cancel the account and stop the monthly invoicing.

Hang in there, and you should be able to get this sorted out soon. Good luck
